What a magical writing retreat - the inspiring writing teachers, the beautiful space in Alayne's lovely home and garden, the personal nourishing touches like the warm facecloths as we began, the out-of-this-world luncheon made by one of my favorite chefs (Alayne!), the safe space for sharing, the beautiful and strong women you gathered.
The prompts and exercises were just perfect to help us connect with and inspire each other. I had come to the workshop feeling that I'd temporarily lost connection with my poetry muse. She just hadn't been showing up in the same way she had months before and all my poetry had felt forced and devoid of spark. Alayne's retreat changed all that. I felt my muse in my heart and leading my pen across the page. The poems I wrote delighted me. The poems and writing I heard from other women delighted me too.
Nature cooperated and Alayne's roses and hydrangeas were still in bloom, blessing us, along with the warm rays of sun on a mid-October Saturday.
My muse is back; thank you Alayne White!

Alayne’s events are always ultra deluxe! The food is fabulous and the indoor space is filled with art and so comfortable and the outdoor spaces are otherworldly! This retreat was focused on writing and sharing, just as it should be! So many transformative moments with smart, thoughtful women. And we wrote, and wrote, and wrote. And that was the main event- super productive. I highly recommend any future Alayne White writing endeavors. Well worth it!

The writing retreat at Alayne White's home was the perfect jump start to get my creative writing juices flowing. We had amazing presenters, writing prompts and time to hear some of each others work. The food, setting and community made it an especially wonderful day of writing, connecting and relaxing. I highly recommend attending.

This experience was much more than a writing retreat. The presenters were talented and inspiring; the writing prompts, fun jumping-in points; and the participants, a mixed-age group of fun, positive, supportive women. Alayne’s food, of course, was beyond delicious. When you mix all this together, with Alayne’s welcoming hospitality in her artsy and inviting home, it’s a magical experience fostering creativity, empowerment, and deeper connection. Thank you, Alayne, for creating an oasis in this busy world for writers of all levels.
