Alayne's Thoughts:

I worked for a man named, Mehran who was from Iran when I worked for Aveda Corporation many years ago. He made it his personal mission to expose as many people he came into contact with to Iranian food. Of all of the food I love, I would say Iranian food is one of my top favorites. Though I have never learned to cook Persian food, it is more because I never really tried. When I found this cookbook, I was so excited because now I am going to dive in. I have always said that Iranian food is like food of the Gods, not so much from the religious experience, but because it linked me to a culture I would have never known. Food does this. Food can create a peaceful bridge from one country to another and in the process we learn that we can all get along when we choose to sit at a table together to break bread (or in this case, pita)
